HISTORY
-
MCC Geoscience is the outgrowth of a private consultancy started in
1992 by Dr. Tom E. McCandless to address the increasing needs of
public exploration companies as they entered the new field of diamond
exploration in North America. During this time, Dr. McCandless also
provided advice in the metals industry, including beneficiation issues
with copper-gold and manganese ores, and platinum group elements.
-
Dr. McCandless moved to Canada in 2000 as Chief Mineralogist for Ashton Mining of Canada, and was instrumental in the discovery of Quebec’s first diamond mine. In 2008 he incorporated MCC Geoscience, based in North Vancouver, B.C., and continues to provide exploration and mining advice to companies throughout the world.
